Steamworks - About – Private Men’s Gym, Sauna and Bathhouse

STEAMWORKS has been providing men 18 years & older with a clean, comfortable and stylish place to meet other men, relax, workout and play 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 30 years.

We currently have clubs in Berkeley, Chicago, Seattle and Toronto. Each club has its own distinctive personality that reflects its place in the local community – however the industrial design aesthetic is unmistakably Steamworks. It is this foundation through which we have created unique, truly masculine spaces.

With over 800 lockers and over 230 private rooms, combined with over 10,300 gallons of water in our hot tubs and almost 44,000 square feet of club space... as soon as you walk into any of our clubs, you are grabbed by that inescapable Steamworks sexual energy. Whether you are here hanging out, working out or making out, think of Steamworks as your free space on the game of life - a place where man2man interaction is not only accepted, but encouraged!

Ok, so the facilities are awesome and the place gets loads of hot men … but we’re more than just a pretty façade – Steamworks has a strong tradition of community leadership tackling the issues that impact our community such as: health and wellness, drug & alcohol abuse and HIV/STD education. In 1985, when our community was being ravaged by AIDS, we saw the need and opportunity to use our clubs also to help educate the community about HIV/AIDS. We created Steamworks Health Information and Education Programs (HIEP), currently under Director Nirmalpal Sachdev. So by now you’ve probably realized that this is not the dirty, dark baths of the old days. We run clubs that are clean, well maintained and well outfitted with great equipment–our gyms, our hot tubs and saunas, our DJ booth and sound system, our digital video system with multiple channels of the best new releases and some vintage adult videos, our thoughtfully designed and appointed private rooms or our varied and truly imaginative play spaces.

We’re about respect. Respect for yourself, respect for others. We’re very proud of who we are and how we do business. We respect our customers and realize that they are our most important assets.
