STEAMWORKS– Berkeley, through the work of our Director of Health Information and Education Programs (HIEP), Nirmalpal Sachdev. has developed a wealth of resources and appropriate referral options with info on HIV and STD prevention and treatment, fitness, nutrition, diet, mental and emotional wellness and substance use and abuse.

Steamworks ongoing in-house partnerships with Berkeley Public Health, The Pacific Center for human Growth, Asian Health Services, The Berkeley Free Clinic (GMHC), AIDS Project of the East Bay, coupled with research based collaborative's with the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) and the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) insure that Steamworks is always well positioned to provide knowledge, insight and answers to the complex questions surrounding men's health issues.  The backdrop and availability of free services that have been in place at Steamworks Berkeley since the early 1980's further enhance our long standing commitment towards making Steamworks a safe, secure and non-judgmental venue for men to meet men.

One last thing, don't forget that Steamworks is the only club in San Francisco Bay area that offers it's patrons that confidentiality and security of private rooms with doors that lock.  Steamworks has always respected your privacy and your right to make your own choices.  If you want to play in public spaces, of course you can do that at Steamworks, but it is intimacy and privacy that is important to you, what a difference a room with a door makes...
