STEAMWORKS – Chicago is
unique in that we are able to serve as a community testing
site for STD and HIV.
We have a diverse coalition of community based agencies that offer
in-house Testing, Outreach and Counseling. They're always happy to provide free condoms, lube, demo,
brochures, information and resource referrals at our first floor Outreach Desk Also, for the past 7 years Steamworks has been partnering with City of Chicago
and Howard Brown Health Center to offer our full service STD & HIV Clinic every Tuesday. So whether you’re a patron or pedestrian – you can get tested for free at Steamworks!
Steamworks Chicago has been working closely with the Chicago Department of Public Health along with all our community based partnerships (TPAN, Howard Brown, BEHIV, Calor) to launch and implement the Oraquick HIV Test (Rapid HIV Test Results in 20 minutes). Steamworks is proud to announce that the Oraquick HIV Test is now offered at all of our testing and outreach events at Steamworks Chicago. No more waiting 2 weeks for HIV test results, your test results are given to you on-site within 20 minutes by our team of trained counselors. We thank our partners at Calor, BeHIV and Howard Brown Health Center for their diligence in helping us make this option available and always free, anonymous and confidential.
'Nirmalpal’s Wall' is a huge resource center where
you can get info on mental & emotional wellness,
workout routines, nutrition, safer/smart sex, STDs,
alcohol & drug abuse, recreational drug use, HIV/AIDS,
the newest AIDS drugs, etc. The cool thing about our
approach to men's health is we keep it very reality based.
